Williams was part of the team of experts hired by the City of Yellowknife to conduct a feasibility study for the use of warm groundwater for building heating. The groundwater is in the process of filling up the soon to be decommissioned Con Mine, one of the gold mines that put Yellowknife on the map.
Williams Engineering Canada (WEC) provided Suncor with design services to construct a new operational complex in Fort McMurray, comprised of an office building, lube warehouse and truck shop. WEC assessed the priority items, which included research and confirmation of the lube system. Specific requirements and timelines for permitting were established with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. This facilitated the submission of the development and building permits, and enabled completion of a detailed project schedule.
