BUILDING SCIENCE
Building science is the application of scientific knowledge and building techniques that focus on the analysis and control of the physical phenomena affecting buildings. This includes the detailed analysis of building materials and building envelope systems. The practical purpose of building science is to provide predictive capability to optimize building performance and understand or prevent building failures.
For new design, Williams Engineering Canada provides pre-design consulting, design phase review of drawings and specifications, pre-construction review of scheduling, and sequencing with an emphasis on constructability. During construction we provide on-site review and inspection of assemblies and often complete thermal imaging and documentation of assembly completion.
