Born and raised in BC, Dan is a true Canucks fan, but will only cheer against the Flames or Oilers if they’re playing against the Canucks! Dan has been in the industry since 1989 and moved to Calgary from Victoria in 1997 to advance his career. He started as a CAD operator and advanced to become a designer through on-the-job training, taking night courses at SAIT and attending several seminars with Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) either locally or at Light Fair.

Dan enjoys music especially playing his guitar, trail riding on his mountain bike, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family. Dan’s favourite saying is “be the leader you wish you had,” and he believes that leadership comes from all levels within an organization, not only from designated leadership roles.
