Derek attended Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Alberta, where he received a diploma in engineering design and drafting technology. After completing his education, he worked for a mechanical consulting engineering firm in Calgary for four years before moving to the lower mainland. Derek has over 10 years’ experience in the mechanical engineering field and was a Team Lead working out of the Abbotsford office prior to becoming the branch manager of the Kelowna office.

Derek enjoys golfing, travelling, collecting scotch (and drinking it), not to mention spending time with friends and family, with whom he shares his passion for great food.
