Homay is the Team Lead, Building Performance and Sustainability in our Vancouver office. He has brought 24 years of experience as a project manager and technical lead for energy efficiency, carbon reduction and commissioning of various institutional, federal, public, commercial and residential facilities across Canada and B.C. His specialties span from total building commissioning, ASHRAE Level 1, 2 and 3 building audit and detailed energy analysis/simulation, measurement and verification (M&V), building controls and performance optimization, recommissioning, functional performance testing, high performance/sustainable building design assist, design reviews, electrification, carbon-neutral/net-zero building assessments, and LEED® projects. Homay’s in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, lighting, control and metering systems has empowered him to be resourceful for any design engagements, operational enhancement, retro-commissioning and optimization of building performance.
Homay is also listed on the approved energy professionals for BC Hydro and FortisBC commercial and Industrial energy study and incentives programs and the CleanBC program under the BC provincial government and has also acquired several professional designations related to the buildings industry, which not only benefits him as an individual, but also his team, our clients and the communities we serve with additional knowledge and expertise. Besides being a professional engineer, he also holds B.A. and M.A. in Economics/Planning and has been a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD).
Homay is an avid sports fan, including soccer, hiking, swimming, biking, camping, etc. with friends and colleagues, and finds time to volunteer with a couple of not-for-profit organizations, including being on the BCIT program advisory committee (PAC) for SEMAC and BCEM programs, and with the ISSofBC and IEBCA.
