Joe Hoy, A.Sc.T.

Joe is the Building Science Team Lead for Vancouver. He studied at BCIT & the RAIC Syllabus Programs but really began learning the craft while working 30 years combined in consulting including over 10 years in Architecture, Design-Build fields and over 20 years in Building Science Engineering. Joe has been a mentor and technical leader of many over the years and strongly believes that knowledge sharing is essential to building a better community. Joe enjoys the problem solving aspect of his job and has a wide range of experiences from condition assessments, design and tender to project implementation (field reviews and contract administration), including the project management of all phases.

A former competitive canoe racer and beer-league hockey player, Joe now spends his spare time on travel, photography, being-in-nature and cheering on the Canucks. Joe hopes to plan future weekend road trips that include streetscape photography of mid-century architecture and of old BC ghost-town relics.
