Phase 33 of Copperfield is a collection of townhomes in southeast Calgary, Alberta, by Sabal Homes and Hopewell Residential. A beautifully unique blend of character and colour, the community of Copperfield includes a wetland reserve, sports fields, a toboggan hill, pathways and several walkable shopping centres. Williams Engineering (WE) partnered with Hopewell Residential to complete a thorough review of the building envelope and roofing detail drawings provided by NORR Architects. WE completed comprehensive reviews of relevant construction documentation, shop drawings and material data sheets, providing comments where applicable. WE’s building science team also performed building envelope, waterproofing and roofing quality assurance reviews during the construction of 19 buildings. Significant attention was paid to the detailing of the air and vapour barrier, construction joints, tie-ins between the building envelope and roofing components and overall quality of construction to ensure conformance with good building envelope principles.
