Drysdale Townhomes are located in the well-established neighbourhood of North Glenmore in Kelowna, British Columbia. A total of eleven buildings, and 69 townhomes were built with three levels of split-level layouts with lower level enclosed garages. Glenmore offers a variety of amenities like banks, restaurants, grocery stores, and parks within walking distance.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided mechanical engineering design and construction services for this project. The WE mechanical team conducted site services coordination, review and coordination with civil consultant’s design. Technical services provided included: plumbing service design for all plumbing fixtures and roof drainage requirements, heating and ventilation systems for the building areas, HVAC systems for all common and service and storage areas (including parkade ventilation). Additionally, heat loss information for any areas heated by electric baseboards were provided to the electrical consultant for their use in determining baseboard sizes and specifications.
Ultimately, what made this project a success was close monitoring of the work in progress and balancing budgets. As well, the client, other consultants, and the contractors with the interpretation of the contract documents were clearly and constantly communicated with throughout the entire project.
