The Hub Commercial Plaza and Holiday Inn Express is a collection of four adjacent buildings located in Kelowna, British Columbia. The Holiday Inn Express includes 120 suites, a pool and hot tub and r 6 stories of 72,000 square feet of space. The Hub Commercial Plaza consists of three buildings, including a 2,800 square foot single-level commercial building for a single retail tenant. The second building is roughly 10,000 square feet and features six retail units. Lastly, building three is designed for a single commercial retail unit and features 4,500 square feet of tenant space.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided building envelope consulting engineering services for the design-build of the Hub Commercial Plaza and Holiday Inn Express. A complete review of the building envelope and roofing detail drawings was completed, and a report outlining any concerns related to these systems was provided to the architect by WE. Roofing system site reviews were completed by WE during the construction phase in addition to the building envelope site reviews. Site reports were provided and distributed to the design and construction teams, including photographs and various comments detailing the work observed onsite.
As Kelowna continues to grow, the need for additional local retail and hotel space for visitors increases. The Hub Commercial Plaza provides Holiday Inn Express guests with an abundance of amenities, including shops, various services, and beautiful landscaping, which helps enhance their stay and experience.
