One Park

Located in the vibrant downtown of Richmond, British Columbia, the 456,000 sq. ft. One Park mixed-use housing development features residential, retail, and office space surrounding a lush private park for the residents and tenants of the building. Designed for an active family lifestyle, One Park features various rooftop gardens and on-site amenities, including a private fitness facility, yoga studio, table tennis room, and multiple children’s play areas. The building’s spacious residential suites have been designed with considerations to brightness and functionality, offering its tenants stunning Northeast mountain views.

Williams Engineering (WE) provided the mechanical engineering services for the three 16-storey mixed-use residential towers of this development, including multiple levels of underground parkade space. These services included the HVAC design of the buildings where WE provided heating, cooling, and ductwork design for the residential suites and the design of the parkade exhaust system, completed with gas sensors and connected to the fire alarm systems. Each of One Park’s suites is equipped with programmable smart thermostats for energy savings. The mechanical team also provided plumbing and fire suppression design including the storm systems for roof drainage, landscape drainage, and parkade drainage systems as well as sprinklers and smoke detectors in each suite. WE’s comprehensive and experienced approach to this project ensured the buildings easily met the Provincial Energy Step Code requirement through energy code compliance modeling.

Inclusive and proactive communication was encouraged throughout the lifecycle of this project to ensure WEC delivered the highest quality design and construction administration services possible. One Park is now home to many residents, including families within Richmond, providing each tenant with a safe and sustainable building to live, work and play in.
