The Beverly is a new residential apartment building in the desirable community of Mission-Cliff Bungalow in Calgary, Alberta. The five-storey building contains 35 residential units available for rent which includes spacious rooftop gathering space and a secure underground parkade. Each suite features large windows allowing an abundance of natural light, modern kitchens and designer finishes.
Williams Engineering (WE) performed building envelope consulting engineering services during the construction of the building. The Beverly was designed with several unique features, including a roof with a two-ply coating for long-term durability and double waterproofing for enhanced protection. These services included a review of the building permit, tender and construction drawing packages provided by the architect. WE provided comments and recommendations related to building envelope, roofing and foundation detailing for the design drawings to address any areas of concern from a building envelope perspective prior to submission. Onsite quality assurance during the construction period was also completed by WE with thorough reviews of the roofing system, walls, windows, and foundation waterproofing.
The Beverly is designed to ensure the most sustainable design solution by incorporating features such as high-performance metal windows, high-efficiency boilers and a rooftop garden space that encourages renters to grow their own produce. A welcome addition to one of Calgary’s trendiest communities, the Beverly provides a sustainable and contemporary option to Alberta’s rental market.
