Located on the corner of Bernard and St. Paul in Kelowna, British Columbia, The Block at Bernard (The Block) is a new mixed-use office and retail tower expected to become a centrepiece for a new master-planned urban community in downtown Kelowna. Part of a two-building complex, this office tower is 16-stories in height and is constructed over a 5-storey podium. The podium consists of commercial retail and maintenance space on the main level with four levels of parking above.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided building envelope consulting engineering services during the construction of this commercial project. The Block includes over 110,000 square feet of office space and over 16,000 square feet of retail units offered in a range of layouts to suit any tenant. WE reviewed the building envelope and roofing detail drawings to address any potential areas of concern or items that may require specific attention and monitoring. Site reviews are being completed as construction continues to monitor the work being done on site as it relates to the building envelope and roofing components of the structure.
