I have 14 years of experience working as an Administrative Professional.
What did your career progression leading up to today look like?
I joined WEC in 2007 as the Receptionist in our Calgary branch. I took a keen interest in learning all I could about our processes, services, teams, projects and clients and moved through our company’s three Project Assistant levels. In 2012, I moved into the Calgary Branch Administrator position. In 2020, I extended my role as Branch Administrator into our BC region, supporting our Vancouver & Victoria offices. Most recently, I have taken on the role of Team Lead, Project Controls to provide support and leadership for our Project Controls team across the organization.
Describe the 3 characteristics about yourself that you believe led you to your success in business.
Drive: I am driven to learn and improve myself, advance my skillset and become a knowledgeable and reliable resource for my team.
Inquisitive: I am naturally curious and seek to understand the ‘why.’ I ask many questions to improve my understanding and ensure I lead with purpose.
Connection: I care about my teammates immensely and the overall success of our team. I have always fostered relationships with my colleagues and built personal connections. These connections deepen the meaning of the work that I do and drive me to do more. I am extremely grateful for the mentors that I have had throughout my career.
How does your work positively impact women in Calgary and/or women of the world?
As Team Lead to our Project Controls service line, I work alongside a great team who works extremely hard to support our engineering teams each day. Our Project Controls team supports the delivery of quality products and services to our clients, which positively contributes to people in the various communities we are all a part of.
