Skylark is an exciting new collection of two and three-bedroom apartments in West Coquitlam, British Columbia. Consisting of two well-designed buildings surrounding a private courtyard, Skylark boasts plenty of onsite amenities, including a hotel-inspired lobby and a fully equipped fitness studio.
Williams Engineering (WE) worked closely with the project team to provide mechanical engineering and energy modelling services for the design and construction of Skylark. WE’s designs include sanitary, storm and water services. The plumbing system includes domestic hot water provided by individual hot water heaters in each residential suite. Heating, air conditioning and ventilation system designs included ventilation rates, preparation of schematics and sizing and locating air handling equipment. Heating is provided using electric baseboards and required interlocks to ensure heating and air conditioning systems cannot operate simultaneously.
WE provided the energy modelling required to demonstrate compliance with Step 2 of the BC Energy Step Code. These services included providing guidance throughout the design process on any revisions needed to achieve energy targets and providing design iterations that exhibit code compliance when necessary.
