Tennyson Apartments are located in Terra Losa, Edmonton. Built in 2004, the 4-storey complex offers 163 units with a mix of one- and two-bedroom suites. Residents benefit from convenient access to public transit, shopping centers, parks, and top-tier amenities, within walking distance.
Williams Engineering (WE) was retained to perform Prime Consulting services for the Tennyson Apartments Retrofit by our client, Efficiency Capital. WE reviewed the design-build engineering documents, including plans and specifications, and acted as the owner’s representative to ensure the design achieved the retrofit objectives. Our team monitored construction and verified performance after construction was complete to ensure that the work was executed per the design documents and that the installation functioned as intended.
The retrofit scope included the addition of variable speed pumps to the heating boilers and heating dispersion additives to the heating fluid media. The roof insultation was improved and an HVAC optimization program was added to the BMS. The existing plumbing fixtures were replaced with low flow fixtures and the three central domestic hot water heaters were replaced. Lastly, WE oversaw the addition of Efficiency Capital’s 169kW solar PV system, as well as a 119kW solar PV system to enhance energy efficiency of the complex.
