_____

Jasper Place Bowl – Award of Merit, Urban Architecture

Dub Architects

Williams Engineering provided Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Engineering services, as well as Energy Modelling.

The Jasper Place Bowl, located in Edmonton’s westside, replaces the aging grandstand with an improved 2,000 seat structure, spotters’ box, administrative and storage spaces and additional dressing rooms. The upgrades significantly reduce estimated greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the City of Edmonton’s emissions reduction target of a 50% reduction by 2030. We’re proud to be part of the team that designed a safe, sustainable and inclusive space that enables community members to connect while watching or participating in various sporting events.

Centennial Plaza Redevelopment – Award of Merit, Civic Design

MBAC

Williams Engineering provided Electrical and Mechanical Engineering services.

Located between the newly renovated Stanley A. Milner Library and the Westin Hotel in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Centennial Plaza is a prominent fixture in Edmonton’s Civil Precinct that provides space to host community gatherings and events. The City of Edmonton has adopted a vision to infuse more sustainable and child-friendly opportunities into the City’s Civic Precinct, encompassing City Hall, Stanley A. Milner Library, Sir Winston Churchill Square, and Centennial Plaza. The concept was developed to revitalize Centennial Plaza as a modern child-friendly destination that would attract and engage new visitors to the Precinct.

Coronation Sports Park & Recreation Centre – Award of Excellence, Urban Architecture

hcma architecture + design and Dub Architects, in collaboration with FaulknerBrowns

Williams Engineering provided Electrical and Mechanical Engineering services, along with Energy Modelling.

The Coronation Sports Park & Recreation Centre is set to become a major recreational and social hub for central north Edmonton. The facility will offer a fitness centre, running track, gymnasium, program rooms, indoor play space, and an indoor cycling track, with a direct link to the Peter Hemingway Leisure Centre. Once opened, it will not only meet community recreation needs but also support high-performance training for triathletes, enriching the area with an inclusive, future-focused destination.

We are honoured to collaborate with talented partners on projects that shape Edmonton’s communities and contribute to resilient, community-centered growth.
