Williams Engineering (WE) is thrilled to be the Prime Consultant on an exciting project with the Calgary Board of Education (CBE)! This ambitious Video Surveillance Technology (VST) Project spanning 89 schools aims to replace legacy video surveillance systems with new, cutting-edge technology. Our role as the Prime Consultant is to oversee the technical engineering aspects of the project through all critical phases, ensuring proper installation and integration of the new VST system at each site.
A Comprehensive Approach to Engineering
This project is being executed in four key phases: Design, Bidding, Construction, and Post-Construction. Our team coordinates closely with CBE’s internal team, various stakeholders, security vendors and electrical contractors to ensure all aspects of the design and installation process meet the highest standards of functionality, safety and efficiency.
Although the technical electrical nature of this project may not be complex, the factors of multiple stakeholders, different roles, and the large number of schools spanning several years of work, can present unique challenges. To minimize the risk of communication, it has been paramount to engage closely with all members of the project team and minimize ambiguity and uncertainty wherever possible.
