Jasper Place Library Receives LEED® Gold Certification

September 19, 2016

Williams Engineering Canada is proud to announce that the Jasper Place Library in Edmonton, Alberta, has achieved LEED® Gold Certification!

The Jasper Place Library reflects the Edmonton Public Library’s desire for an open and flexible sustainable space for the residents of Edmonton and surrounding communities. Williams Engineering Canada provided mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Public Library. Partnering with architects HCMA and Dub Architects, the team’s goal was to create an open and inviting environment for families to use as a hub for creativity and learning. The library encompasses a number of innovative and energy-efficient systems and features, including an electric vehicle recharging station, low-flow and electronic water fixtures, LED lighting, as well as an HVAC system which automatically adjusts climate control when windows are open in the facility. You can see a full range of the energy and environmentally-friendly features of the Jasper Place Library by clicking here.

We are proud to have been a part of the team that contributed to the LEED® Gold Certification. Congratulations to the entire project team who made this achievement possible and helped take an existing library and bring it back to life!
