Williams Engineering (WE) provided building envelope consulting engineering services for the investigation of water leaks and restoration work for two single-family two-storey wood-framed residences at 106 and 110 Sunterra Way, originally constructed in 2015. Signs of water damage and moisture were reported by the tenants at the ceilings on the main floor, and further investigation revealed further damage along the walls and attic space. WE conducted visual inspections of the building envelope components and provided a written report summarizing the observations and recommended repairs and restoration.
The building envelope work completed on the homes on Sunterra Way is an excellent example of the importance of completing further investigation whenever a deficiency is identified, no matter the age of the property. Immediate investigation and repair of water damage are critical to determine the cause of any present moisture and ensure further damage is mitigated and that the structure is safe and operational.
