Williams Engineering (WE) provided mechanical and energy modelling consulting engineering services for this townhome development. WE coordinated closely with the City of Vancouver Sewers and Water to confirm building service connections to sanitary, storm, and water services in addition to natural gas services provided by FortisBC. Plumbing, heating and ventilation systems were designed by WE with domestic hot water provided through individual electric hot water tanks within each townhome unit. Heating is provided using electric baseboards and suite ventilation is provided using continuously operating energy recovery ventilators. Energy modelling and evaluations were provided to demonstrate a five percent reduction in energy use and GHG emissions relative to 2015 National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB). Construction administration services were also provided, including field reviews and reviews of contractor shop drawings.
