Part of the Bernard Block mixed-use complex, the Bertram Residential Tower is located in the heart of downtown Kelowna, British Columbia. The building is a thirty-storey condominium tower seated above a five-storey podium that features retail, maintenance and dining spaces in addition to four levels of parking space. Bertram offers an abundance of private amenities for residents and convenient access to plenty of services, shops and activities found in central Kelowna.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided the building envelope consulting services on this residential project. A thorough review of the building envelope and roofing detail drawings and specifications, provided by RLA Architects, was completed by WE with a written report providing recommendations and comments regarding the systems. Site reviews were completed during construction to review the building envelope and roofing systems as they were being installed. Calculations for thermal bridging were also provided by WE to include in the building’s energy model.
Bertram has adapted and continues to meet the need for modern, active living in an urban setting with a dedicated co-working space for remote workers, a community garden, a fitness facility, and a rooftop pool lounge. WE continues to work alongside Mission Group to create a lasting impact by engineering buildings able to sustain growth in Kelowna and throughout the Okanagan.
