Centennial Place

Originally built in 2000, Centennial Place is a seniors housing building owned and operated by Cumberland Senior Citizen’s Housing Society in Cumberland, British Columbia. The building includes 15 one-bedroom apartment units, office space, a common room, and a workshop. As many of the building envelope, mechanical, electrical and life safety systems had reached their end of life, the need for a restoration was identified.

Williams Engineering (WE) was selected as the Prime Consultant to perform the building envelope restoration of Centennial Place, along with required structural, mechanical, and electrical improvements. A field evaluation was first completed to review the building and existing Building Envelope Condition Assessment Reports (BECAs), available drawings and associated documentation. Design development documents were prepared and evaluated to select the most cost-effective repair solution for the restoration. Construction drawings, and specifications included with a summary of work were provided during bidding and tendering services, and further clarified during the construction administration phase to completion and turn over to the client and end user.
