Coaldale RCMP Detachment

The newly constructed Coaldale RCMP Detachment provides various in-house RCMP support sections to the Town of Coaldale, including a forensic identification unit, a regional traffic unit and a police service dog unit. After operating out of the Coaldale Town Office since 2016, the RCMP staff members are delighted to have a new and more accessible facility that enables officers to enhance the service they provide to the surrounding community.

Williams Engineering (WE) provided mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for this 2,262 sq. m. emergency services facility. The mechanical design for this project included plumbing systems, heating, and ventilation and cooling systems. As electrical consultants, WE provided designs relating to power services and distribution, lighting and lighting controls, communications systems, fire alarms and auxiliary power systems. WE also assisted in the preparation, coordination and review of tender call contract documents. The services provided during the facility’s construction included monitoring compliance with inspection and testing, conducting substantial and total performance inspections and conducting a review of shop drawings.

This project further equips the RCMP with much-needed tools and resources to ensure the safety and protection of Albertans in the Town of Coaldale and surrounding areas. With the new ability to deliver diverse and collaborative police services, this facility is a great achievement in the pursuit of keeping communities safe.
