Located in the neighbourhood of Sardis, Chilliwack in British Columbia, the Skynest provides luxury adult living within a retirement community. The pet-friendly suites are offered in nine layouts to meet the various space requirements of residents. A short walk away from dining, medical offices, recreation, and shopping options, the Skynest provides residents and guests with outstanding mountain and river views.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided electrical engineering consulting services for the design, tender, permit and construction phases of this project. These services included close collaboration for onsite electrical services with BC Hydro, Telus and Shaw. Working drawings for power, communication, lighting and life safety systems were provided by WE, in addition to designs for the parking area lighting and controls, fire alarm and layouts of the empty conduit system for telephone, cable, TV and A/V. Designs for the residential suites included receptacle distribution and a single light fixture per room. Electric baseboard heating sizing and locations were designed by WE based on the heat loss information provided by the mechanical consultant.
With Phase One completed in 2022, the Skynest was designed to feature beautiful modern suites with a focus on accessibility demonstrated by wide hallways and walk in showers. This contemporary retirement community will provide residents with luxury space, continuous comfort, and an improved way of life for many years.
