Valour Place

Williams Engineering is proud to have had the opportunity to donate our mechanical, electrical and structural services for Canada’s first “Hope Away From Home” for injured soldiers and their families who are undergoing medical treatment in Edmonton. Valour Place is the first of its kind; construction and furnishings were entirely donated, and the facility is operated by volunteers. There is no cost to residents and their families while staying and receiving medical treatment.

Valour Place is located in close proximity to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Centre for residents’ convenience. The structure is a single-storey conventional timber frame building with a cast-in-place concrete basement. The facility features a barrier-free design that is entirely wheelchair accessible with 12 bedrooms, a large kitchen and common areas featuring a communal library, basement gym and an arts and crafts centre. The idea was to build a facility with a positive atmosphere and home environment for residents during their recovery.
