Foothills Academy provides quality education and school programs for children with learning disabilities in Calgary, Alberta. The academy was created with the belief that students in grades three to twelve with disabilities are able to achieve exceptional success in education with the right environment, support, and resources. The school achieves this environment by building strong relationships with students, building their confidence, and maximizing their full potential.
Williams Engineering (WE) completed the building envelope consulting engineering services on this partial roof and stucco replacement project. Re-roofing of the original flat roofing area was required as leaks had been observed. A set of technical specifications, detailed drawings and contract documents for tender purposes were prepared by WE’s building science team. WE conducted site visits to provide quality assurance site review during construction to ensure proper procedures and conformity to the design were observed onsite.
A sound building envelope and roofing system are essential for the Foothills Academy to ensure the health, safety and well-being of staff, students and visitors. With an optimized building envelope, students of the Foothills Academy can continue to enjoy the welcoming and supportive environment they need to reach their full potential.
