Located in Prince George, British Columbia, the Forest Glen Apartments is a new multi-family rental development containing fifty-one residential units. These modern apartments offer spacious balconies, in-suite laundry, and large windows with spectacular city views. Residents will enjoy quick and easy access to plenty of amenities in Prince George, including restaurants, shops and pubs, in addition to close proximity to the University of Northern BC.
Williams Engineering (WE) provided mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for this new construction project. The building is a four-storey wood-framed structure with one level of underground parking. The residential space totals about 51,966 square feet, and the parkade is approximately 19,000 square feet. The suite ventilation uses energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) in each suite, designed in compliance with ASHRAE 62.1. The building’s domestic hot water is provided by central high-efficiency gas-fired water heaters and storage tanks. The parkade is insulated and heated using gas-fired forced air heaters with exhaust systems consisting of multiple exhaust fans controlled by zoned carbon monoxide and combustible gas detectors. WE’s electrical designs include an exterior parking area and parkade lighting, main power distribution, fire alarm systems and residential suite lighting.
The community of Prince George has seen steady growth since 2012, maximizing the need for additional residential developments and rental buildings throughout the city. With electrical and mechanical systems optimized specifically for residents of the Forest Glen Apartments, the development delivers enhanced living options to meet and exceed the demands of the community.
