Williams Engineering (WE) provided mechanical schematic design, design development and complete mechanical permit and construction documents for the heating, ventilation, and plumbing design.
This development features a closed loop geothermal system under the parkade to provide thermal energy to the water source heat pumps for the heating and cooling plant for the residential and commercial building. The building mechanical systems consist of a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pump system which distributes heating and cooling to all residential units and commercial space’s thru a refrigerant piping system and fan coils. The domestic hot water systems consist of pre-heat tanks supplied from the geothermal system and high efficiency gas fired boilers to maintain 140 degrees Fahrenheit in the storage tanks. The domestic water boilers are also utilized as a back-up heating source for the geothermal VRF heating system. Ventilation to the residential units is provided through acoustically lined corridor ventilation transfer intakes with time-clock controlled bathroom fans. The commercial CRU’s are designed to base building requirements with VRF fan coils and future plumbing connections including domestic cold water, sanitary and venting.
The Pier at London Landing provides a luxurious lifestyle for those interested in living near the waterfront while also remaining close to a number of urban amenities.
